Then Comes Silence hail from Stockholm, Sweden and were founded by Alex Svenson, the only original member from the band’s beginnings in 2012. The inspiration came from touring frequently with A Place To Bury Strangers and an attraction to horror and the occult. A couple of years later the German post-punk community started to embrace the band and Then Comes Silence found a new home away from home.
After releasing three albums in quick succession, Then Comes Silence were signed to Nuclear Blast in 2016 for the release of ’Blood’. The partnership opened a lot of opportunities. The band started to reach out to a wider audience, opening for acts like The Fields of the Nephilim, The Chameleons, A Place To Bury Strangers and participating in festivals like M’era Luna, Wave Gotik Treffen, Amphi Festival, Castle Party and W-Festival among others. Later, following up with dual record deals, Then Comes Silence signed for another album deal with Metropolis Records.
Then Comes Silence are highly reputed in the front line of the new generation of goth, post-punk and darkwave, being well-known for frequently releasing high quality new material and as a hard-working touring band which is one of the genre’s leading live acts.

We are very happy to welcome The Mobile Homes to the inaugural Shadowplay Festival!
The Mobile Homes was formed in 1984, and have since then been in various constellations, and are now the founders the brothers Andreas Brun and Patrik Brun and Hans Erkendal, along with Sami Sirviö and Markus Mustonen (Kent). The band’s been collaborating with Julian Beeston (Nitzer Ebb), and Denniz Pop, Karl Bartos (ex Kraftwerk) amongst others. They’ve also toured with bands such as Laibach and Nitzer Ebb. In 1998 they released the album “The Mobile Homes”, with Karl Bartos (Kraftwerk).

We are very happy to welcome True Moon to the inaugural Shadowplay Festival!
Swedish quartet True Moon delivers an enchanting blend of dark wave, post-punk, and alternative that eclipses musical trends. Formed by members of Grammy-nominated band Vånna Inget, Karolina Engdahl (vocals/bass) and Tommy Tift (guitar), they have created a charming darkness; together with Linus Segerstedt (guitar) and Fredrik Orevad (drums), they are a force to be reckoned with.
With influences including Joy Division, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Sisters of Mercy, The Mission, early Cure, Stevie Nicks, and Heart, they channeled a sound of bittersweet twilight. True Moon expanded their audience with performances in Sweden, the UK, and the United States, playing with bands like Killing Joke, King Dude, MCC, Dead Soul, Nicole Saboune and many more.

We are very happy to welcome A Projection to the inaugural Shadowplay Festival!
The Stockholm based A PROJECTION started in 2013 with the ambition to be a true post punk band. Although sometimes spilling over into adjacent genres like indie and goth, the first three albums (Exit, Framework and Section) have been rather firmly rooted in the post punk genre, developing from a rather hard-boiled, minimalistic sound into a more readily accessible one, all within the within the framework of a strict post-punk aesthetic and attitude.
The A PROJECTION sound has been and can still be described as “a danceable mixture of post punk and electronica, with both depth and edge, bright colors and darkness”.

Swedish darkwave/goth/electro sensation ABU NEIN took the world by storm with the release of their debut album ”Secular Psalms” in 2020 (Young & Cold / Progress Productions), becoming one of the most talked about bands in the scene with shows all over the north to follow. Their music features a blend of atmospheric synths, haunting vocals, vibrant guitars, and pulsing beats. Fans of bands like Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Boy Harsher, Hante and She Past Away will find a lot to love in Abu Nein’s sound. The band’s music and art are infused with esoteric themes that have long been associated with the world of the occult. ABU NEIN is perhaps also the only band that not only sells records, t-shirts, and tote bags, but also merch such as handmade spirit boards and death flutes. ABU NEIN has supported bands like KITE, The Legendary Pink dots, Priest, Minuit Machine and She Past Away. ABU NEIN has also collaborated with artists such as Pablo Bozzi, Blind Delon, Tobias Bernstrup, Aux Animaux, Covenant and Henric de la Cour.

We are very happy to welcome Aux Animaux to the inaugural Shadowplay Festival!
Aux Animaux is a hauntwave artist based in Stockholm, Sweden, whose music carries influences from the ’80s synthesizer sounds, horror movies, and occultism.
In a short time her live shows have become famous and she have played all over Europe with artists like She Past Away, Traitrs and Boy Harsher
The Latest full length release ”Body Horror” have recived high praises all over the scene.
Gallow’s Eve were formed in the fall of 2021 and consist of three lost souls from southern Sweden. The band members are well travelled musicians hailing from such bands as Kindred Spirits and Grand Rezerva. The band’s debut EP dropped in the Summer of 2022 and immediately got airplay on several alternative radio shows and received high appraise from the goth scene. Early 2024 they released the debut album 13 Thorns that gives a perfect sample of the intense gothic rock that has earned the band so much praise and attention in a short space of time.

Exploring the occult, death and dark themes, Gallow’s Eve deliver high energy goth rock that tap into raw human emotion.
